Can you give an example of a project you managed successfully?

In my role at Amazon Prime, I led a project to build a high-throughput backend service for handling real-time order validations, which was critical for improving checkout reliability during peak traffic events.

The challenge was to design and deliver a scalable solution within a tight timeline while coordinating with multiple dependent teams, including payments and catalog services.

I started by working with stakeholders to clearly define requirements and success metrics. Then, I broke down the project into manageable milestones, assigned clear ownership, and set up regular tracking through sprint planning and progress dashboards. I also ensured we identified potential risks early, especially around inter-service dependencies.

During execution, I maintained close communication with the team through daily stand-ups and weekly reviews, quickly addressing blockers and making adjustments when needed. I also emphasized code quality and performance testing to ensure the system could handle peak loads.

As a result, we delivered the service on time, and it successfully handled high traffic during peak events without any major issues. It significantly improved system reliability and reduced checkout failures.

This project demonstrated my ability to plan effectively, coordinate across teams, and deliver high-impact solutions under tight deadlines.
