Explain your process for tracking project progress and handling delays.

In my previous role at Amazon Prime, I was responsible for tracking progress across multiple backend services that were part of a high-impact release. To ensure visibility, I set up a structured tracking process using sprint dashboards, burndown charts, and weekly milestone reviews aligned with our delivery roadmap.

I made it a point to break down large deliverables into smaller, measurable tasks and ensured each task had clear ownership and timelines. I also conducted regular stand-ups and mid-sprint check-ins to proactively identify any blockers early.

In one instance, we noticed a delay in a critical integration due to dependency on another team. Instead of waiting, I immediately flagged the risk in our tracking system, escalated it through proper channels, and worked with both teams to redefine the scope so we could deliver a partial but functional release on time. At the same time, I reallocated resources within my team to parallelize other pending tasks.

As a result, we were able to meet the overall release deadline without compromising quality, and the pending integration was completed in the following sprint without impacting customers.

This experience reinforced my belief that consistent tracking, early risk identification, and proactive communication are key to handling delays effectively while keeping stakeholders aligned.
